Would you trust your family and most prized possessions to someone you didn’t know who lived thousands of miles away? The answer is of course no. But everyday Houston residents are entrusting their home security and alarm monitoring to out of town alarm companies that do not have offices in Houston and who blindly hire independent contractors to install and service their orders. To alert Houston consumers to this growing trend in the home security industry, Houston based Safeguard Home Security has launched a new website. The site is designed to educate Houston residents on Safeguard’s outstanding customer service and commitment to safety as well as to the fact that they are locally owned and operated.

It’s so frightening to think of how commonplace burglaries have become, especially as a mom home alone with two young children. I’ve been reading a lot about a security window film called BurglarGARD, made by ShatterGARD. Definitely something I’m looking into, in addition to an alarm system…

Thanks for the Q&A. While I agree monitored home security systems offer a lot of benefits, not all systems and all monitoring centers are the same. Make sure to do research to find a company that delivers real security. Ask about their valid dispatch rate and get all the promises in written guarantee. Talk to local police to learn which companies they find to be most effective.
