New Year’s Resolutions for Personal Safety
January 3, 2009
Everyone knows all about the fleeting nature of New Year’s Resolutions: we pledge to lose weight, stop smoking or improve our organization. Year after year we go into our resolutions with purpose, only to discover about the middle of January that we have already broken these promises to ourselves… Why not make some personal safety resolutions this year? These types of resolutions are not only great for improving the security of ourselves and those we love, but they may just spur us towards actually keeping them!
Try writing down the following New Year’s Resolutions for Personal Safety:
1. Learn basic personal safety measures. Such measures include learning how to walk safely by yourself at night when necessary, how to travel safely, how to improve your personal safety while shopping and other such safety tips. Many of these measures will be almost intuitive, but you may find that learning some extra measures can help you to stay a bit safer as you go about your daily activities.
2. Invest in some personal safety products. You spent a lot on your loved ones during the holiday, so why not spend a bit on yourself to start out the new year? Learn about such products as stun guns, pen knives, mace spraying devices and personal alarms; then choose which type of product is right for you. Deciding which personal safety products are appropriate for your needs includes figuring out how comfortable you are with items that may injure others along with evaluating your own ability to be responsible with storing and carrying the items.
3. Become familiar with your daily surroundings. Many of us go through our day with the same basic routine, but we never really begin paying attention to the community and buildings around us. Look closely at areas that may be ideal for hidden dangers such as attackers or uncontrolled animals and have possible safety routes planned out in case of an unexpected emergency.
Promark Safety wishes you and your loved ones a safe and prosperous New Year, which may begin with evaluating your own personal security. Visit us online at www.promarksafety.com to learn more about products that can help you keep your own Resolutions for Personal Safety!
